Developing resilience, overcoming obstacles and growing from setbacks is essential for happiness. Resilience is our capacity to become adaptable to changes and improve life when plan A does not work out. It is important in life to use resistance for the next challenge or step to be conquered in life. Learning to look at problems as opportunities to learn and grow. Resilience is also the commitment to life to reach our goals and achieve happiness. The intense stimulation to get out of bed each day to reach for our dreams. This commitment could be what keeps us giving second chances to our relationships and friendships. People who are resilient don’t spend their energy focusing on events they cannot control.
Resilience is our capacity to become adaptable to changes and improve life when plan A does not work out.
The key is to put the efforts where there would make the most impact. Excessive worrying about things we cannot control could leave us feeling helpless and lost. Resilience is also optimism, and optimistic people see bad events as something temporary. Staying resilient could also develop a sense of compassion and of becoming empathetic. A resilient mindset can bring a change on how to overcome stress and deal with success.
My Personal History With Resilience:
During the past years, I learned so many things new about me. Many have always been here. A hidden place waiting to be finally discovered. The product of reality, maturity and life experiences. Have you ever walk around life with the undoubted certainty that you know who you are? But, then one day, life makes you see yourself in a different mirror, and for the first time comes the real discovery that was kept hidden from yourself. I have lived inside the skin of a pantomime that acted, smiled and moved like me, and the shocking moment discovering my real face behind so many masks. I am finally meeting myself.
After such discovery, I paid attention to my body and found inches of skin unrecognizable before. I became a fan of the back of my neck, shape of my mouth, earlobe and waves on my messy curly hair. Location on each birthmark on my body, shape, and colors of my natural fingernails, brown color of my eyes, tiny feet in comparison to my tall height, glow on the skin of my shoulders, blue veins in my arms and body symmetric.

Before this discovery, I used to see my body as clothing sizes going up or down, amounts of weight needed to drop, muscles to shape and body to tone. I saw my body according to how well the dresses in my closet fit in or not, and how tight the jeans were. I saw my body as a small and medium size success or a big number on the scale catastrophe.
But at one beautiful moment, I found invisibly written words on my skin for each person that I have ever loved. Those other words from the past that at one point left me with scars and hurt me. Now, were fading with the daily renewal of my skin, maturity, and experiences. However, what I am most proud of, is that I could look at myself as a whole, and find beautiful words on every inch of my body from the many people who love me unconditionally.
I must confess, that I am surprised to realize that many were my words. At some desperate point in life, I gifted myself beautiful, brave words and mantras to use in the future. As someone lost to the sea in a shipwreck, sending an SOS message to a soul who would read it afterward in the future. SOS messages of self-love, resilience, and validation which transformed and made me brave during several situations.
But at one beautiful moment, I found invisible written words on my skin for each person that I have ever loved. I must confess, that I am surprised to realize that many were my words. At some desperate point in life, I gifted myself beautiful, brave words and mantras to use in the future.
These incredible words are too many at present. They become bigger each day and turn into the brightest lights in any room. I discovered that my body is breathing intuition, vibration, and energy, and no longer logic and fixable-addictive thinking. Materialistic living and possessions will never be able to satisfy this soul, which instead craves intensity, creativity, and spiritual connections. I discovered that I have been homesick my whole life, missing something or someone I could not find or identify. So when I confronted my true self, I discovered that I am no longer homesick. I finally found my missing home in ME.

How To Cultivate Resilience:
• Envision a brighter future ahead and keep a positive mentality.
• Make sure to stay surrounded by healthy relationships, which will support and motivate your decisions instead of constant criticism.
• Say no to the victim mentality. Focus your energy on improving what you cannot control.
• Exercises, sleep and keeping stress under control. A healthy body and mind will respond more efficiently to the many obstacles.
• Stay away from negative thoughts. Use positive daily affirmation and watch how you talk to yourself.
• Learn from mistakes, problems, and lessons. There is strength in the capacity to overcome and move past the difficulties.
• Work daily on self-love and confidence. When you develop confidence, you will move forward due to your inner strength.
• Stay flexible to changes.
The reality is that sometimes we are going to fail from time to time. Living means making mistakes and the need to grow from setbacks. We should not stop from seeking our dreams; even at the risk of failing. Resilient means staying strong, through the lessons so we can move to achieve better and bigger dreams. The power to overcome setbacks will come from resilience.
